When browsing the Steam Workshop, you may rarely find items labeled "Accepted for Game" that have not actually been added to the game. This article aims to clarify how this label works, and why this may rarely happen.
Items receive this label when a revenue share payment rule has been created in Steamworks. Although a payment rule has been created, it does not guarantee that the item has been added to the game. Rarely, we may choose not to proceed with releasing an "Accepted for Game" item. Unfortunately, there is no process for removing an "Accepted for Game" label from an item.
To minimize the chance of this happening, we try to accept items shortly before release. This could happen for a number of reasons. Chiefly:
- If the author has recently made inappropriate/concerning posts on our official communication channels.
- Licensing issues would prevent us from releasing the item.
When an incident like this occurs, the author could still have items added into the game in the future. We recognize that people make mistakes, and we do not intend to permanently block an author over an amendable issue, nor do we wish to encourage bad faith reporting.
