How do I add landscape holes?

The older "Landscape Hole Volumes" were replaced by the hole painting terrain tool. It allows an unlimited number of holes as opposed to the old 16 volume limit. To select the hole cutting tool:

1. Open the Terrain tab
2. Select the Materials tab or press 2
3. Click the Mode button in the bottom left until you see the Cut tool, or press R
