If no servers are appearing in the in-game server browser, try the troubleshooting steps below.
Reset your filters
Overly restrictive filters can result in no servers matching your search criteria.
When an empty search is returned, click the Reset Filters button at the top of the screen. One commonly overlooked filter is the Server Name field, which may contain text from a previous search.
Increase the maximum ping limit
By default, servers with more than 300 ms latency are hidden from the server list.
You can increase the maximum ping limit in the server browser filters. Keep in mind that high-latency servers may provide a poor gameplay experience.
Check your game version
Servers are only visible by players running the same version of the game.
If Unturned was updated while the game was running, most servers may have already switched to the new version. When you are not on the latest version of the game, a notification appears on the main menu. Closing the game will allow Steam to update the game.
Alternatively, if the game recently updated and you are already on the latest version of the game, it is possible that most servers have not updated to the newest version yet. Simply wait for those servers to update.
If you have opted into an older game version or beta branch, you are less likely to find servers being hosted. See "Opting-out of Steam betas" for instructions on opting out.
Unblocking firewalls
If you have a firewall enabled it may be blocking the connection to all the servers. The way the server list works is Steam provides the IP of each server, and then your client contacts each one to ask for some basic details. Sometimes the firewall prevents contacting all these servers at once.
On Windows you might need to allow Unturned in Windows Firewall. The installer should have done this automatically though.
For third-party firewalls you will need to refer to their troubleshooting guides for details on how to allow the game traffic through.
Only servers from a different region are missing?
If only a few servers are missing, that you know exist and are active, this may be an issue with the server's setup. For example, some server listings may be inaccessible outside of certain regions—even with a VPN.
Since the Steam server list is a "black box" (meaning, the exact implementation is a mystery), we cannot verify why this happens. It could be that the server host (or their ISP) blocked connections from certain regions, or a nuance with how the Steam server list works, or some other unknown issue.
Unfortunately, there's no workaround for joining servers that aren't visible within your region.
